As SuezanneC says, the browser based viewer is now available and in binary form too if you don't want to build it from source. It gives you a default mesh-based AV, so out of the box everyone will look the same. It supports textures and seems to work pretty well. ground and sky colours seem totally screwed right now though. But it is impressive and can only get better.

Anu -- The 3Di OpenViewer is already available for public use, but does not currently support many functions. For example, avatars show up as white clouds and textures don't load. However, it does have in-world teleports and chat (though not hypergrid teleports).

However, if you're a 3Di customer, and use their hosted product, the viewer works great, is very responsive, but doesn't support in-world teleports or chat. (Yet, at least.)

Check out my review here:

Cloud computing is the way to go given the complexities involved in deploying virtual worlds and maintaining them. This probably gives the businesses a shorter path to virtual world adoption; they can then focus on the applications available within the world.

Web viewer is very impressive. Tried glancing through their website to get contact details but couldn't find one. Is the web viewer available in english - is it released? If not, do you know when the potential release date is?

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The comment's server IP (208.74.66.43) doesn't match the comment's URL host IP (74.112.128.10) and so is spam.
