		<description>Actually, there is or was a project at Stanford University to try to build an archive of virtual worlds ... I'm not sure where the project is now, or whether the archive would be open/navigable to just any user or a dark/dim archive for scholars.</description>

		<description>as long as each seperate company wants to rule the worlds, they will build their own engines and formats and die within 5 years. ive argued against this for 3 cycles since 1994 so far. machines dont listen.;)

i can only show you screenshots of dozens of virtual worlds made in dozens of "platforms"-- a very loose term of platform" that have been made and erased from any new meta memories since 1994.

i dont see this happening- the culture, the money- moves forward with no desire for history and technlogy culture only rewards the beta. all else is obsolete.

Unless technology is built to serve many humans, and not just other machiines or  systems ... any thinking about history is kinda  lost..</description>
