[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The comment's server IP (174.129.176.172) doesn't match the comment's URL host IP (174.129.41.174) and so is spam.

You wrote: "As several people have discussed recently, including Dusan Writer and BotGirl, content creators actually relinquish all rights to work produced inside Second Life — Linden Lab owns everything. All the management and distribution of virtual goods is handled under the auspices of the Second Life Terms of Service. As a result, what’s distributed aren’t the virtual goods themselves, but the license to use these goods. And Linden Lab has the right to modify the terms of this license at any time."

I think you've maybe misread the SL Terms of Service. Linden Lab lets creators retain ownership of all intellectual property they create in/for Second Life. It is Linden Lab that gets a (limited) license. This is one of the defining characteristics of Second Life, something that was new in the virtual world industry, something that Larry Lessig suggested to LL management. If LL were to change their TOS to give LL ownership of the IP, that would be IP theft. LL would be sued and they would lose. So they won't do that.
