i have a ttended a few conferences that had simple twitter boards setup to allow for more participation. it was more novel than useful. i can't imagine a conference with several channels

i always thought that a conference could use AV specialists that are trained to use virtual worlds. most conferences have AV companies for their keynotes and bigger sessions. the AV person could be monitoring a VW component and field questions from remote avatars and place a cam view of that avatar on the monitors to allow for remote questions
