The best way to create a situation regarding how to give the adult user a way for him or her to prove their age or if they are 18 or older would be using PAYPAL. The adult resident or user would have to pay 1 dollar for age verification and once thats paid the system would release the links to the adult regions. And also a user certification where he or she must also attest and confirm that they are of age.
The paypal verification is good because you will need a credit card to certify your age. We are about to start construction on a AVIWORLDS ADULT area more like a separate grid within the grid. Only people with the group which is also a good way to stop people from entering the regions. Once you are paypal age verified you get the group invitation and links.

Alex, the people are hungry. Feed them!

    • That’s excellent advice where the costs of getting it wrong could be substantial. For example, say you meet someone on an “adult” grid, thinking they’re over 18, develop a relationship with them, come over to meet them in their town — and find out that they’re a kid, and their parents and the cops are there waiting for you!

You’d be all like, “I swear, officer, he or she said they were over 18!” and they’d be like, “Yeah, yeah, like we haven’t heard that one before!”

By the way, for those who haven’t watched the show, Alex is referring to the fact that I’m nearly done with the redesign of the Hyperica hyperport. And, as part of the process, I checked to see what the favorite searches were and — surprise surprise! — adult stuff was second after freebies. So, clearly, I need to have an adult area in the hyperport. We were discussing how to locate it such a way that people who weren’t looking for it wouldn’t accidentally stumble through a gate to a sex grid. But, at the same time, people who ARE looking to stumble into a sex grid wouldn’t have to look too hard for it.

Skybox? Dungeon? Offshore island? Cave complex? What ever it is, it has to be easy to find, and in the spirit of the current built. Which you can visit at hg.hyperica.com:8022. Some of the gates even work!
