Report: Mobile-based headsets are first to market

According to a new KZero report covering virtual reality hardware, mobile device-based headsets have beaten integrated headsets to the market.

Consumer versions of the Google CardboardDurovis DiveSeebrightAltergazeVrizzmo and Samsung headsets are already available on the market, the report shows, while not a single of the integrated devices has hit the consumer market yet.

The best-known of the latter is the Oculus Rift, which has recently announced that a consumer version will be released in the first quarter of 2016. Others include the HTCImmersiON-VReliaAvegantSony’s Project Morpheus and ANTVR headsets.
