hmmm, well, ok, I am all for people doing what they want, as long as it doesn’t hurt others (which way to many are wont to do), but having changed the diapers of my son and his 3 sons, over time, I must pass on visiting…….

Great numbers on the stats, things are moving along quite nicely-))

I know, right!? I’ve got two kids, and any curiosity I had even remotely related to diapers has long, long, long been completely fulfilled.

Though if ANYBODY ELSE out there is still curious, just ask me — I have TONS of horror stories. Gross ones. Babies are gross. Adopt older kids!

I did as well, for a while. We had pails of bleach water… finally decided that we were wasting too much water. Plus, I’m hoping that they’ll soon invent bacteria that they will be able to inject into landfills that will eat all the diapers.

Yea, with my grandsons we all used the throwaways. But heck, it was good for out constitution eh? hehe

No comment except to vigorously agree.

Maria; I submitted my grid in email, but I apparently didn’t make the deadline. You are still counting personal grids that people can HG into, right? No big since it’s been back over a year anyway. If you couldn’t get there or anything, let me know.

I’m looking forward to seeing it in the list next month!

      1. maria@tromblyinternational.com'

Forgot about your email…. I had your grid in my database under an old LoginURI and had it marked as closed. I just updated all the stats pages, including the active grids list and the hypergrid list.

        1. hanheld@yahoo.com'

          Thanks! 🙂

Avi-Labs also hosts the genesis project, stargazergenesis, Carlos Loff Virtual Worlds and Dreamlandz grid and off course AviWorlds.

    1. da.tonyhayward@gmail.com'

yup and Aviworlds really is shooting ahead

    2. fonsecaloffpt@yahoo.com'

Thank you for reminding that, Im proud to be hosted by Avilabs

    3. chrisx84@live.ca'

damn i lost another bet, I MEAN wow grats alex for keeping AviWorlds open for this long. I am very surprised you have not closed that grid yet (keyword YET).

      1. da.tonyhayward@gmail.com'

Good reason why he hasnt because AviWorlds works!
        plain and simple

      2. netinterprizes@yahoo.com'

The reason the AviWorlds has not closed or havent had problems making it have to shut down is because we dont have you hosting it or having anything to do with us. Its because we have Avi-Labs.You will keep loosing bets I think you should re think your betting strategies because I mean business and I dont ever give up.
by the way we just added another grid to our list. CORE.

I wonder how are regions counted, is a 4X4 Var counting as only 1 region on a grid or it accounts for 16 Regions ???

    1. maria@tromblyinternational.com'

I count standard region equivalents. To me, 16 regular regions look like the same amount of land as a 16-region mega, as a 16-region var. I know the back end works differently for each, but from a user perspective, it’s the same land, same prims.

I try to say “standard region equivalents” instead of “regions” to underscore this, and request that grid owners post the total land area somewhere on their stats page, either in the form of standard region equivalents, “calculated regions,” or square kilometers or square meters.

      1. fonsecaloffpt@yahoo.com'

Dammm, I made a mistake and replied to you as a new post, than I deleted it and tried to insert it on here – reply – but your site keeps insisting I already made this comment, lol, that is why AI can fail big – So with my 17 VARs of 4X4 each + 1 Reg, than Loff Virtual Worlds should be between Tangle Grid and Littlefield rank, witch although temptng and nice it would not be very fair, given those grids projection… By now of course, because is time to show up very soon, and I will not forget to send you an objective presentation, cheers

          Hi Carlos,

Even as moderator I cannot enter the exact same comment twice… Disqus seems to record our comments and prevent needless repetition, except, as you say, when it would really be okay and make sense. As you found, just change a few words and you can repost the ‘same’ comment as desired. This ‘feature’ is something we don’t control.

    2. maria@tromblyinternational.com'

Thanks, I’ve updated the database — is there any chance you can update your stats page to reflect the total land area? If not, I’ll make a note to email you next month to get the total land area again. Thanks!

  5. dragon@stargazer-genesis.com'

ok so Vars dont count as a single region :s ok so land mass of 256×256 genesis Project has 186 (this is based on the diffrent var regions i do need to run a break down on our site and forums about this maybe i can do a montly post on our forums with region types and breakdown to make it easier maria)

    1. maria@tromblyinternational.com'

If you can post the total land area — in the form of square kilometers, square meters, or standard region equivalents — somewhere on your website, please email me and let me know: maria@hypergridbusiness.com.

      Thanks!

So many Regions… let us be real, what is important is people. I look at the fact that there are more regions than people as a real problem. At any given time most regions are empty on all grids, and only very few regions have more than a couple people at a time ever. How does compare with SL. How is OS comparing with SL. I would have thought that Opensim would have grown more. But of course OpenSim doesn’t actively really market itself against SL.

    1. da.tonyhayward@gmail.com'

      very well said.
I totally agree Open Sim doesn’t market itself against SL.Also another factor is SL has been around a long time and it is very hard for people to give up their friends and aquaintences or walk away from their accomplishments there, although SL is making it harder for more and more to stay there. Number of active users is vary important but also you need to have the venues for these people.
So more regions I see as a good thing.
Personally I prefer where we are now in AviWorlds to SL…but thats me.

  7. elmanytas@gmail.com'

Do you think that the use of OpenSim will increase after the film “Ready Player One” on 2018 by Steven Spielberg?
I am reading the book an it describes an evolution of SecondLife / OpenSim where everybody is inside.

    1. da.tonyhayward@gmail.com'

my gut feeling is that all open sim grids will increase in traffic and viabilty over the next year or so. The trends in marias Blogs tend to suggest that Open Sim is becoming a real alternative to SL. Which isn’t neccesarily bad for sl, competition is good for any business and its customers.
