      3RD Rock Grid Foundation and community is running duel currency with shops free for creators. Gloebits Mall , and a Geode Mall on the region Mullins which is the grids own currency. We run this alongside free shopping to suit all pockets. The Gloebit mall is filling now at grid.3rdrockgrid.com:8002:Gloebit Mall

    As I told Christopher a while back, I’d be happy to work on Buy Currency with them once we have some idea of what Linden Lab is planning on doing with it too. They’re set to replace the current implementation with something new and I’d hate to duplicate the effort.

      No idea what LL is doing or when, but I really want to improve the Buy Currency button, and maybe more importantly, the insufficient funds flow (which dumps into the buy currency flow).

    Thank you for the Gloebit update. And yes Gloebits are getting very popular, which is great 🙂 We see this also at our hypershopping regions where we have over 50 different merchants selling their products, next to what other people have on merchants on their gloebit enabled regions of course.

    I must have misunderstood the information in the FAQ on the Gloebit site and perhaps Christopher can set me straight.

    My confusion arises over the comment that there is no buy back and they see the them as ‘worthless tokens’.

    I took this to mean no conversion from Gloebits back into US$ (or whatever). I must be missing something because without a conversion both ways Gloebits would be useless as no merchant can make any real money slaving away for hours making stuff.

    I’d appreciate clarification as I assume there is a way to convert Gloebits back to US$ right? If not Gloebits would be play money only, except it cost real money to obtain, albeit a potentially massive money making scheme for the programmers behind it, and I am sure it isn’t as I sense everyone in Opensim land is altruistic.

      have you found out a way to cash out the globits? i am extremely confused over this entire thing and cant do much as i am at the moment in the hospital and my connection is not good

        Yes it’s all good. You can sell as well as buy.
