Avacon, Inc just runs the convention.
They haven’t filed a 990N since 2011, and no executive meeting minutes since 2015, but their website says they’re open to sharing tax documents upon request. Doubtful they take in more than $10,000 a year or they’d be filing.
I don’t think they accept donations to fund OpenSim development. Just sponsorship money and crowdfunding (and they appear to just pick and choose who gets the gifts promised for certain levels of giving because I never got mine and I’ve heard from other who never got theirs and received no response inquiring about it.)
Other than duping people on the crowdfunding gifts, they seem harmless. Let them have their fun.
