With 14 days left to go in its Kickstarter, the Beijing-based ANTVR Technology Co., Ltd., is now looking at stretch goals for the next two weeks.
The Kickstarter for an open source version of the Oculus Rift ends on Jun 23 and has already passed $231,000 on a goal of $200,000.
ANTVR is unique in that it includes not just a headset but a clever set of controllers that can be used in several different configurations.
The company’s big new stretch goal is to hit $500,000, which would allow it to swap out the LCD display for a higher-quality OLED display.
The $270 pledge level, the lowest that came with a headset, is now all gone, but $300 pledges still remain, with delivery currently scheduled for this September.
