No need to socially distance in OpenSim this holiday season. Grids are going all out with hunts, songs, dances and parties. Here are a few places to start and things to do.
Shop, party and hunt on Virtual Dream grid
The French Virtual Dream grid‘s Christmas market is now open for the entire month of December in readiness for Christmas.
It is a place where visitors can do shopping for Christmas items, or rent shops to sell their items with a Christmas theme. The region is offering some shops free to rent.
You can also hang around the Christmas Market and enjoy taking a picture or two with Santa Claus, or enjoy a ride in a carriage.

Celebrate Christmas on the Event Beach region
The grid’s Event Beach region is also open and ready for your visit, for an exciting Christmas Party dance featuring 4 djeys, starting from 9 pm to 1 am PST on Thursday, December 17.

Christmas treasure hunt
The grid will also be hosting a Christmas treasure hunt on the WhiteWorld region from December 15 until the beginning of January 2021. The hunt has 100 hidden gifts for you to find out.

Christmas celebrations start this Sunday on Tranquility grid
Tranquility Grid is ramping up activity for Christmas at the Events region, which, during this Christmas holiday be hosting events daily from Sunday, Dec. 20 to Thursday, Dec. 24, involving special contests and raffles.
Local Tranquility grid residents, as well as hypergridders from other grids, can participate in contests and win virtual currency prizes by wearing a Christmas outfit, signing up on the context board, and staying until the last song is played.
The winner will take home $1000 Tranquility Dollars each of the five days of the event, as well as other prizes.
The La Grande ballroom of the grid will also host a New Year’s Eve party.
Music, dancing and gifts this holiday season on Littlefield Grid
Littlefield grid is ready for Christmas. Starting at 9 p.m. Pacific time on Thursday, Dec. 24, and 8 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, Dec. 25, the grid’s Christmas Island will host an evening of music, dancing, Christmas gift, and socializing.

The Sweethearts region of the grid will host a New Year’s Eve dance starting at 1 p.m. Pacific time on Dec. 31 with DJ Essentual.

Additionally, the New Year’s Island will host a formal dance starting at 9 p.m. Pacific time on Thursday, Dec. 31 and will feature drinks, dancing, and party favors.
Free tuxedos and gowns will be available for all guests.

Alternate Metaverse grid hosts Winterfest and New Year’s Eve party
Celebrate Winterfest and enjoy the magic of the winter season, Christmas and New Year’s Eve at the Wintervale region of the Alternate Metaverse grid, from Saturday, Dec. 19 through Thursday, Dec. 31. It will feature live performances and DJs, skating, sledding, snowball fights and winter fun.
Austin Moores will sing live on Monday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. Pacific time, followed by DJ Ernest. DJ Slyder Morgan DJ Xazha and Sammie Magic over the course of the day.
Dj Zed Wrenn, owner of popular Club Cherry, will host a Christmas Eve party starting at 2 p.m. Pacific time on Dec. 24. DJ Princess Goti will be on stage from 12 to 2 p.m. Terry the Wildman will be on stage on Saturday, Dec. 26 from 4 to 5 p.m. Pacific time, while vocalist Zoree Jupiter will perform from 11 a.m. Pacific time that day. Clan Escotia will sing live at noon Pacific time on Sunday, Dec. 27.
On Monday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. Pacific time, DJ Sammi Magic will be on the Winterfest Stage.
Then on Tuesday, Dec. 29, starting at 1 p.m. Pacific time guitarist Ernest Moncrieff will be doing a one-man tribute to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Guests are invited to come dressed as their favorite Transylvanian transvestite.
DJ Cataplexia will host from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, Dec. 29 . The dress code will be silks or Warrior Kilts and free outfits are available for those who come early.
On Thursday, Dec. 31, DJ Cataplexia will play fireworks and music, followed byDJ Jazzi Love, DJ Jana and DJ Ian.

Faith Chapel holds services on OSgrid to celebrate the season
The Faith Chapel, located on the Club Eternity region of OSgrid, conducts live church services and sermons in-world on DigiWorldz every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time.
On Dec. 19, Faith Chapel will present the Biblical story of Jesus Christ, with activities for participants.
