Late last year, Destination British Columbia filmed British Columbia’s raw wilderness with 360-degree cameras to create The Wild Within VR Experience for the Oculus Rift.
If you don’t happen to have an Oculus Rift developers kit, you can watch the behind-the-scenes video below about how the virtual reality experience was filmed.
Or you can download the Google Cardboard version of the experience from Google Play.

It offers the choice of a boat trip past some sea lions, or an alpine hike, and uses the button on the Google Cardboard headset for input controls.
The camera does jump around a bit — one minute you’re sitting in the boat, the next you’re hovering in the air above it — which can be a little disconcerting.
